We have developed a fresh approach to philanthropy – one for people who want to leave a positive mark on the world and recognise the need for expertise to find the best.
It can be hard to prioritise where your charitable support goes. We bring together charities that work across a wide range of causes, in different parts of the UK. One donation can then have a broad impact.
For charities to join our platform, we need to be sure they’re good. We need to buy into the strategic direction of the charity. We then help them to get on with it. Our donations are unrestricted so that charities don’t have to shape their work to meet donor priorities.
We’re a registered charity ourselves. We fundraise for our own running costs from generous patrons so we are able to pass on all other donations.
So long as they meet our criteria, we fund charities in perpetuity. When a charity outgrows us, we count it as a win. In 2020, Grief Encounter, a child bereavement support charity, passed our £1.5m turnover criteria (now £2m) and we happily parted ways.
Dot Impact is our bulletin from the wider world of social good.
We curate the most exciting news from the world of social good and tech, showing ways that you can make a difference.
