Leave a gift in your will
A gift in your will helps small UK children’s charities keep changing young lives for decades to come. It costs nothing today, and it’s one of the most meaningful ways to leave a lasting legacy.
Whether you’re just starting to think about it, or you’ve already decided in principle, we’re here to help, at whatever pace suits you.
One gift, many causes
Leaving a gift in a will often means choosing between charities you care about — a single decision that has to hold for decades. Raise Your Hands takes that dilemma away.
A legacy gift to Raise Your Hands is shared equally between our portfolio of small UK children’s charities — supporting work spanning mental health, youth violence, care leavers, family crisis, education, and more. And because we continually vet and refresh the portfolio, your gift will always go to the charities doing the most effective work when it’s received, not just the ones doing it today.
Nothing you give today comes out of your estate now. And you can update or change your will at any point in the future.

Three ways to leave a gift
There are three common ways to include a charity in your will. Your solicitor can advise on what’s best for your circumstances.
A residuary gift
A percentage of your estate after other gifts and expenses have been paid.
A pecuniary gift
A specific sum of money. Its real value may reduce over time due to inflation.
A specific gift
A particular item, such as property, shares, or a piece of jewellery. There is no minimum gift.
A residuary gift is the most flexible option, and the one most charities recommend — because its value keeps pace with your estate. Even a small percentage of your estate can make a lasting difference.
